The Mask…(I Once Wore)

There you go once again
Bringing back the distant pain
The sound of a slamming door
Brings bad memory to the fore…

It has taken me this long
To perform on centre stage
Now I’ll have the curtains drawn
Thought I was immune to rejection

Chorus X2
Where is my mask
That I once wore
Here comes the past
That I once abhorred

Baby you were my strength
You pulled me out of myself
Now you’re pulling the carpet
Right from under my feet

I just can’t carry on...without you
You were the one I relied on
You're the air that I breathe
Now you're gone ....I'm dying...

Chorus X2
Where is my mask
That I once wore
Here comes the past
That I once abhorred

Bridge
As I look towards the sky
I can hear a voice so familiar
Asking why are you crying
And what are you searching for

Why you struggling to breathe
Open your eyes and look at me
Baby you’re having a nightmare
Wake up it’s just a dream, I’m here

Chorus
Where is my mask
That I once wore
Here comes my past
That I once abhorred

End

Note: I’m open to ideas
